Google has announced the launch of the Gemini artificial intelligence model for various products by enhancing Studio Bot with the introduction of Gemini Pro.
If you are an Android app developer using Android Studio, Studio Bot is likely to be your favorite companion.
Studio Bot is an integrated intelligent chatbot with Android Studio, useful for those who want to efficiently develop their applications. The announcements came during the company’s annual developer event in May 2023, where Google introduced for the first time Studio Bot powered by the PaLM-2 artificial intelligence model. Google is now launching Gemini in Android Studio in over 180 countries for the release of Android Studio Jellyfish.
Google also announced the renaming of Studio Bot to Gemini in Android Studio, updating the chatbot model Bard from PaLM-2 to Gemini Pro. Gemini in Android Studio, supported by the Gemini Pro model, is available within the integrated development environment and allows developers to ask programming-related questions.
Google emphasized the importance of improving the quality of answers, mastering code instructions, error handling, finding appropriate resources, and writing documentation. For privacy, users must log in and enable Gemini in Android Studio to benefit from it.
Chatbot responses are based on the conversation history and context provided by the developer. Users can easily access the Gemini API through Android Studio to add artificial intelligence features to their applications. Google seems to focus on competing with tools like GitHub Copilot in its developer-facing products. Last year, Google introduced the PaLM-2-powered assistant Codey to respond to programming queries and its cloud services.
