The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been ranked as one of the leading countries globally in establishing a national AI strategy, according to a report released by Stanford International Artificial Intelligence for the year 2024. This report is a trusted source that helps policymakers, researchers, and industry experts better understand the current situation and future trends of artificial intelligence.
This advanced level aligns with the direction that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks in utilizing data and artificial intelligence technologies. This comes under the supervision and support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority. The aim of this effective and deep use of these technologies is to serve humanity, and to develop a global framework that supports international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
The level that the Kingdom has reached in the field of data and artificial intelligence confirms the success of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, where artificial intelligence is directly linked to achieving 70% of those objectives, with the rest indirectly. This aims to enhance the country’s position in global indicators in various fields, including artificial intelligence led by Sadaya since its establishment in 2019 as a specialized entity in data and artificial intelligence and the national reference in organizing and developing them. This step complements what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved.
In 2023, when it ranked first globally in the Government AI Strategy Index. This ranking was issued by “Tortoise Intelligence,” who assess more than 60 countries worldwide. Additionally, the Kingdom ranked second globally in AI societal awareness according to Stanford International AI Index in the same year.
These global levels align with the efforts of “Sadaya” in enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a leading country in data and artificial intelligence, and boosting the AI ecosystem by building capabilities, setting policies, encouraging investment and innovation, developing technological infrastructure, and enhancing the adoption of artificial intelligence in key areas to achieve national priorities.
