OpenAI announced via its official account on the Ex platform the addition of new features for users with free subscriptions in ChatGPT. Among these new features is enabling users to access customized GPT robots known as GPTs through the OpenAI store.
The new features:
- Users can now enjoy analyzing charts, asking questions about images, searching the internet using the “Bing” search engine, uploading files, which were previously available exclusively to paid subscribers only.
- The new features include access to a wide range of customized robots in the GPT store, such as the Consensus robot for academic research and data gathering, the Programming Teacher robot from Khan Academy, and the Canva robot for designing presentations and social media posts, and more.
- Users can now link their data from cloud storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive to ChatGPT for easy analysis, create customizable charts, as well as upload files directly from mobile devices.
The imposed limitations:
- There are some limitations on free user accounts, such as the inability to create and publish custom GPT robots, and the utilization is limited to the robots available in the store.
OpenAI is expected to gradually enable the new features for all users in the coming days. The new ChatGPT features an advanced GPT-4o technology, and OpenAI hopes to increase the usage of ChatGPT by providing more services for free account holders, potentially increasing opportunities to purchase personal subscriptions starting at $20 per month.
