Experts and specialists have indicated that artificial intelligence will be a revolution that changes the course of history, whether in terms of work automation, time reduction, or cost reduction. Simo Ilmi, host of the “Simo” program and founder of “Hari” deep technology company, affirmed that artificial intelligence is the industrial revolution that will bring about a deeper and more radical change in the course of history than the previous industrial revolution.
They emphasized the importance of looking towards the future and developing the infrastructure and support systems to form a vital cluster of technology companies in the region, contributing to the advancement of the technology scene both regionally and globally.
This was done in a session titled “From the Lab to Company Launch: Roadmap for Deep Technology Startups in the Middle East,” where both Simo Ilmi and Akram Amir, founder and CEO of “R Engineering,” were hosted by Amin Staeli, founder and CEO of “Deep Minds,” on the “Founders Platform” during the first day of the “Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival 2024” organized by the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center “Sharaa” under the theme “Together, We Shape the Future” at the “Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex”.
Startups specializing in deep technology face numerous challenges, including a lack of resources to support research and skill development, intellectual property protection difficulties, and challenges in funding innovative and future-oriented ideas in their early stages.
In this context, artificial intelligence can help us in building a digital twin and automating some parts of work to save time and reduce costs.
Akram Amir highlighted that there are over 50,000 companies with more than 500 employees working in the technology field, indicating the availability of investment capital. However, fundraising is not the ultimate goal; rather, the foundation is innovation and making an impact.
The United States and Europe have been working on long-term plans to enhance the outcomes of the educational process, promoting a market-oriented trend towards adopting more modern systems and technologies. Boeing engineers invented the concept of augmented reality 30 years ago, which has been widely used by companies like Meta and Apple. According to statistics, it takes technology companies a long time to develop a successful, practical product model, requiring extensive research to ensure the technology’s effectiveness. However, once success is achieved, companies enter the markets strongly and achieve high market shares.
As part of the “Founders Platform,” Mehdi Kumar, founder of “Ultrahuman,” and Ali Hashemi, co-founder and chairman of “GloCare,” participated in a panel discussion titled “Biological Hacking and Healthcare (Biohacking): The Next Frontier for Comprehensive Quality of Life.”
Ali Hashemi pointed out that the concept of “biological hacking” means a hybrid healthcare system that combines the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced devices and tools, along with traditional practices in genetics, herbal medicine, sports, and research-based dietary systems.
This system provides an excellent model for enhanced and specialized healthcare, aiming to meet the needs of all individuals, improve everyone’s health, and raise the overall quality of life.
Mehdi Kumar mentioned that 20 to 30 percent of the region’s population suffer from diabetes, and more than half of the population have digestive disorders, in addition to individuals with weight gain issues and at risk of developing diabetes. He emphasized that “Ultrahuman” is working on finding a solution to this challenge through a biological sensor device that individuals can wear on their wrists.
People can avoid diabetes by encouraging them to improve their lifestyle through an instrument that helps them understand their bodies, how they interact with different types of food, and knowing the indicators of blood sugar and glucose levels. This is enhanced by…
The concept through biological hacking, which we seek to enhance in individuals to help them take control of their health themselves. For this purpose, we collaborate with the healthcare and medical system to achieve this goal. The speakers discussed the importance of partnerships and their role in achieving desired goals. “Hari” company formed a partnership with the Finnish company “Aura” based in San Francisco, while “Ultra Human” company formed a partnership with the Emirates cycling team and also with the “ADQ” team, a women’s cycling team.
