/WAM/ The College of Engineering at the University of Abu Dhabi concluded the first edition of the “RoboCar” competition for designing small robot cars, sponsored by the Institute of Technological Innovation and in the presence of institute representatives who expressed their admiration for the students’ innovative and creative spirit.
A total of more than 72 students from schools in Al Ain participated in the competition, which was launched by the university for the first time since its establishment and was held under the slogan “Mechatronics Engineering: The Future of Mechanical Engineering.”
They were given the opportunity to develop and sharpen their programming skills, enhance teamwork spirit among them by assembling and designing robot cars, all under the supervision and support of a constellation of experts from the University of Abu Dhabi and faculty members.
The competition highlighted the students’ talents and capabilities in the field of designing small robot cars and worked on fostering their love for exploration in various engineering fields.
The students presented creative ideas and impressive abilities in solving some problems such as overcoming obstacles, following programmed paths, and mastering remote control.
The event provided a significant platform for students to delve into the dynamic artificial intelligence, robotics, critical thinking, and programming fields, inspiring the next generation of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics leaders by offering practical educational experiences in a collaborative and competitive stimulating environment.
At the end of the competition, the participating students presented their projects to the judging committee, which diligently examined the students’ innovations and then announced the top three teams.
The first place went to Baraem Al Ain Private School, while the Future International Academy secured the second place, and Tawam Model School Private School won the third place.
