Microsoft announced through its official website the integration of its intelligent assistant “Copilot” into its cloud storage service known as “OneDrive,” providing new features aimed at improving the productivity of users of this service.
Microsoft decided to expand the OneDrive service by incorporating artificial intelligence technologies last year, and it is expected that these capabilities will be available to all users by next April.
The AI assistant will be able to extract data from documents stored in the OneDrive account and respond to user inquiries based on this information, as well as provide a summary of the data.
Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot, supports a wide range of text files and their various formats, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, PDF files, web pages, and other diverse types of documents.
In addition to answering user queries related to documents, Copilot can perform other tasks such as presenting data in tables, showing the latest important documents, or providing guidance on document development.
Copilot will help users access the required files faster than before, and also organize them in a suitable manner.
Users of OneDrive will soon have the opportunity to experience the new Copilot assistant feature, as Microsoft plans to launch a new feature that summarizes shared documents later this month. This feature will allow users to create a summary using AI inserted into a Word document before distribution, enabling recipients to read the summary via email before viewing the full document.
Microsoft’s assistant, Copilot, will be available in the OneDrive service for customers in the corporate and educational sectors who have a license to use this AI assistant within the Microsoft 365 suite, starting from next April.
