One of the engineers at Tesla company was tragically assaulted by a robot at the factory located in Texas near Austin.
Two witnesses saw the incident where their colleague employee was attacked by the robot designed to pick up and transport newly cast aluminum car parts.
The robot pinned the engineer in place, programming two disabled Tesla robots nearby, before plunging its metallic claws into the worker’s back and arm, leaving a “blood trail” along the factory floor.
The incident, which resulted in the victim sustaining an open wound on his left hand, was revealed in the 2021 injury report submitted to Travis County and federal organizations.
While no other injuries due to robots were reported to regulatory authorities by Tesla at its Texas factory in 2021 and 2022, the incident comes amidst years of growing concern about the risks of automated robots in workplaces.
