Meta has added a new feature to the virtual reality glasses Quest Pro, which is the ability to track tongue movement. This feature provides more realistic facial expressions in virtual reality, allowing users to express their emotions better.
The new feature operates by utilizing the OpenXR development toolkit, which third-party developers can use to create applications and games that support tongue tracking.
So far, Meta’s Avatars SDK has not been updated to support the new feature. However, after updating their SDK to version 60, third-party avatar solutions will be able to do this accurately.
The new feature is still in its early stage of development but holds the potential to change the way we interact with virtual reality.
