/WAM/Announced yesterday in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, the formation of a committee on the role of religions and civil society in the field of artificial intelligence, where His Excellency Sheikh Mohaved Bin Baye, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, was selected to lead this committee.
This announcement came at the end of the meeting between religions and civil society regarding artificial intelligence, held by the Code of Good Faith Partnership-UK, in collaboration with the British government, as part of implementing the outcomes of the Safe Development Summit in Artificial Intelligence, led by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last November.
The meeting, opened by Mr. Thaqib Bahati, Deputy Minister of Science, Innovation, and New Technology, was attended by religious leaders, civil society institutions, businessmen, and government officials. The discussion focused on the importance of building connections between different segments of society to deepen research on the impact of artificial intelligence on religious and civil societies in the long term. It emphasized the necessity of following humanitarian principles to ensure that scientific progress in artificial intelligence uplifts human dignity, promotes peace values, and noble meanings of life.
The committee was tasked with ensuring comprehensive and effective participation of religious institutions and civil society in developing artificial intelligent technology to enhance public dialogue and shape international policies and legislation.
Upon his appointment as the head of the committee, Sheikh Mohaved Bin Baye presented his vision and ambition to enhance understanding between religious communities, civil society, and experts in the field of artificial intelligence.

It was noted that the primary goal of the forum’s participation in these partnerships is to improve the relationship among team members, including religious leaders, scientists, engineers, and policymakers in their respective fields, so that their joint efforts bear fruits of producing human values and principles that benefit everyone in prosperity and coexistence in peace.
The committee has commenced a series of meetings with the relevant government officials in the office of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, where they discussed how to collaborate and develop effective partnerships.
