Amazon announces the launch of a free program called AI Ready, aiming to provide training in the field of generative artificial intelligence to two million people worldwide by 2025, in an effort to attract new talents.
The company focuses on implementing artificial intelligence in all its sectors, using AI-powered robots in its warehouses.
The free AI Ready program consists of eight courses available on Amazon’s educational website, and these courses are also offered to employees not affiliated with Amazon.
The program helps individuals acquire artificial intelligence skills, including advanced AI technology that powers the ChatGPT chatbot and other language models.
The company has designed a series of training courses aimed at meeting the needs of both beginners and professionals. Three training courses target business users who are not tech-savvy, while five training courses target developers and technical audiences.
Amazon has announced scholarships worth over $12 million from Udacity for more than 50,000 high school and university students in underrepresented communities worldwide.
AI Ready program is an extension of current training programs focusing on AI skills provided by Amazon. Amazon says that 21 million individuals have received training in cloud computing skills in AWS through its programs.
Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of AWS for Data and Artificial Intelligence, said: “Our goal through AI Ready is to help achieve educational opportunities equality in the field of artificial intelligence.
Sivasubramanian stated: “We need to make AI education accessible to anyone willing to learn if we want to unleash the full potential of AI to tackle the world’s toughest problems.”
The company pointed out that 73% of employers consider hiring skilled AI talent essential, but they struggle to find qualified individuals.
The demand for AI talent in job roles is increasing, with companies willing to pay high salaries to those with the required skills.
Amazon aims to promote democracy in education in generative artificial intelligence, stating that the program benefits its employees and customers from institutions looking for skilled employees.
This program contributes to the promotion and marketing of Amazon’s AI-related products, as many training courses rely on the company’s platforms such as Bedrock AI and CodeWhisperer, tools that automatically generate code instructions.
