OpenAI has unveiled a new application for the artificial intelligence robot ChatGPT on Mac computers.
The application will enable direct voice calls with the robot through the computer, whether in the traditional audio mode or using the audio and video features in the new GPT-4o model.
Once the application is installed, it can be launched normally or accessed quickly by pressing the “Options” and “Space” buttons simultaneously. Additionally, the application allows text input, image and file uploads, screen captures, and more.
Subscribers of the paid ChatGPT Plus plan will be able to access the new application on Mac devices starting today, and it will be made available for free to the rest of users in the coming weeks.
OpenAI stated that they plan to release the ChatGPT application on Windows systems later this year.
This is unusual, as Microsoft is considered the primary partner of OpenAI financially, administratively, and technically.
OpenAI has also announced the new GPT-4o model, which will be available to all users, providing intelligent performance similar to the current GPT-4 model with improved support for text, audio, and visual inputs.
Regardless of the reason for the delay in launching the app for Windows, Microsoft is likely to incorporate the new features announced by OpenAI with the GPT-4o model into all its products, including its Co-Pilot assistant.
OpenAI has enhanced the ChatGPT robot website by updating the homepage and message designs to enhance the user experience while chatting with ChatGPT.
