The emerging artificial intelligence company Anthropic has launched its AI assistant Claude in Europe.
The company confirmed in its press release that the Claude.ai web-based version, Claude app for iOS, and Claude Team subscription-based plan, which allows companies to access a set of Claude 3 models, are now available throughout Europe.
Users can access all models through a paid subscription version called Claude Pro, which is powered by the AI assistant Claude.
These offerings join the Claude API, an application programming interface launched by the company in Europe earlier this year, allowing developers to integrate Anthropic’s AI models into their applications, websites, or services.
Anthropic stated in its press release: “Claude exhibits strong levels of understanding in languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian, and other European languages, enabling users to interact with Claude in multiple languages.”
The interface of Claude makes it easy for anyone to seamlessly integrate our advanced AI models into their work.
Google has not yet launched the Gemini service in the European Union, while OpenAI’s ChatGPT faces privacy criticisms in the European Union.
Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, stated that Amazon and Google support compliance with EU regulations, and the company’s programs are used in the finance and hospitality sectors across the continent.
Europe’s approach to AI regulation is unique, characterized by strict regulations and a strong focus on ethics compared to the United States and China.
The region has lagged in adopting smart technology in vital sectors such as healthcare and government, although some companies are advancing AI projects in the region.
Claude 3 models have outperformed other models in various industry standard evaluations, and were launched in 159 countries through Anthropic in March.
The company also launched the first smartphone app and a new enterprise subscription plan for the chatbot Claude at the beginning of May.
The launch of these new offerings was a decisive step for the company, enabling it to compete with major companies like OpenAI and Google in the field of AI, intensifying the competition in this sector.
