The Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah region achieved a significant medical breakthrough by successfully applying advanced technology that utilizes robotic automation and artificial intelligence in a knee replacement surgery for an elderly patient suffering from severe pain and leg misalignment.
A team of orthopedic surgeons performed a two-hour surgical procedure, with the team leader, Dr. Raed Abu Talib, confirming the success of the operation and the patient’s good condition. The patient received necessary care and is now undergoing rehabilitation and physical therapy sessions. Dr. Raed also mentioned that the robotic device and artificial intelligence used in the hospital are known for their high precision in artificial joint replacement surgeries, enabling these procedures to be successfully carried out at the hospital.
Dr. Turki Al-Wosaidi, the Executive Director of Medical Services at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital under the Ministry of National Guard, emphasized that healthcare services at the hospital are continuously evolving due to the continuous efforts and divine assistance to serve all patients with the help of the best specialized medical staff in various fields.
