The “Cocreator” feature has been officially launched by Microsoft in the Paint program, allowing users to create images using artificial intelligence technology within the program.
The new feature is now available in the Paint program in Windows 11 for all users, after Microsoft tested it for several months and introduced it in a limited manner in Windows Insider preview versions.
This feature relies on the DALL-E 3 generative artificial intelligence model provided by OpenAI, enabling users to write a text description of the image they want, with an option to choose a drawing style, to produce multiple images that align with the text description.
The “Text-to-Image” conversion feature has been added to many other applications and services, including the artificial intelligence assistant in the Windows operating system, known as “Cobilott.”
Microsoft allows users to benefit from the text-to-image conversion feature using artificial intelligence for free. In contrast, OpenAI provides access to the DALL-E model only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
Microsoft has also added to the program a feature to remove the background of images with a single click, in addition to various options to enhance the user interface. It is also testing other advanced features such as image editing using layering techniques, similar to advanced photo editing software, and also supports image transparency.
This is part of Microsoft’s strategy to integrate artificial intelligence features into its applications and services widely in collaboration with OpenAI, of which Microsoft is one of the leading investors.
