/WAM/The Artificial Intelligence Film Festival at Expo Dubai attracts more than 500 films from 89 countries.
Has artificial intelligence become a rival to filmmakers in Dubai? Can anyone become a filmmaker regardless of their skills anywhere?
Over 500 short films from 89 countries are participating in the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival held in Expo Dubai, which is a bet on innovation and technology, opening up new competitive opportunities. Ziad Majd, the Deputy Chief of Future Technologies at Expo Dubai, states that the participating films stand out for their quality and craftsmanship, highlighting the available opportunities in this emerging field.
The audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite film from the shortlisted films, while Expo Dubai’s artificial intelligence technology will independently determine the favorite film, adding an element of exciting competition.
The festival aims to shed light on the wide trend towards utilizing smart technology in the film industry, emphasizing the possibility for anyone, anywhere, to become a film director or producer.
Ziad notes that artificial intelligence technologies allow individuals to express their creativity in new and diverse ways through the continuous hands-on workshops organized by the festival, sharing the results with creative and future technology communities.
Experts in artificial intelligence and the film industry have conducted numerous sessions and workshops as part of the commitment of the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival to promote dialogue and knowledge dissemination.
More of these sessions will be presented in the near future, providing a deeper understanding of the intersection between artificial intelligence and the film industry, and how to use artificial intelligence tools to empower human creativity in film production stages.
The first of its kind in the region, the festival explores the potential use of artificial intelligence in enhancing creative storytelling and developing the film industry sector, highlighting the integration between human creativity and technology, making Expo Dubai a preferred destination for creators.
After the deadline for the global competition submissions, the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival’s jury will evaluate the short films, and the top 10 films will be revealed on the shortlist by mid-January.
The winners of the Best Film, Best Director, Audience Choice Award, and Artificial Intelligence Choice Award will be announced during the awards ceremony on February 29 at Expo Dubai, celebrating and appreciating the winners for their contributions to the AI-dependent film industry.
Ziad stated, “Expo Dubai is working to enhance its human-centered artificial intelligence-based vision, where technology enables individuals, develops automated processes, and saves valuable time that can be utilized more productively and creatively.”
