Brave company confirms it will introduce the smart assistant app known as Leo to its suite of apps compatible with iOS devices like iPhone and iPad.
Leo, the artificial intelligence assistant, can ask questions, summarize pages, generate content, and perform other tasks for individuals.
The launch of the assistant app for iOS comes after its release on the Android platform and computers.
Leo offers the capability to convert voice to text on iOS, a feature not available in the Android version of the AI assistant.
Through this feature, users can convert voices to texts and eliminate the need for typing queries or questions.
Brave company states that this additional feature facilitates user interaction with smart technology.
In addition to summarizing pages or videos, Leo can answer questions related to the viewed content, prepare detailed reports, translate or rephrase pages, create written copies of audio or visual content, and format code instructions.
By providing direct access to the integrated AI assistant, Brave hopes its users can avoid the need for ChatGPT or similar services.
Leo’s feature includes access to Mistral 8x7B from Mistral, Cloud Instant from Anthropic, and Lama 2 13B from Meta.
There is also an opportunity to upgrade to Leo Premium for $15 monthly for enhanced benefits. One subscription can include up to five devices running Windows, Android, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
Brave mentions that chats with Leo are private and not recorded or used for model training.
It should be noted that Brave is not the only company launching an AI assistant, as Opera introduced an AI assistant named Aria last year.
Opera developed the AI assistant in collaboration with OpenAI, featuring a chatbot-like user interface enabling users to ask questions and receive instant answers.
All iOS users who have updated the app to version 1.63 can now access the Leo AI assistant from Brave. Leo is a subscription feature that can be disabled through browser settings.
