Discussions are ongoing about how artificial intelligence is changing the future of work at the present time. The general public generally believes that advanced applications and technologies of artificial intelligence are capable of replacing employees and creating a new reality that may be faster than expected in the job market.
In this context, a recent survey was conducted to assess the opinions of 750 business leaders regarding the impact of technology on their companies and their stance on using artificial intelligence applications in the upcoming year 2024.
According to the study results, currently, 53% of companies rely on artificial intelligence, and 24% of them plan to start using it from the beginning of 2024.
Among the companies currently relying on smart technology, 37% report that they will be laying off employees in 2023, as they are no longer needed due to the company’s use of artificial intelligence.
In 2024, 44% of companies currently using artificial intelligence or planning to use it in the future state that it is certain for 21% or perhaps 23% that they will let go of employees because of the use of artificial intelligence.
Additionally, according to the survey results, 96% of companies indicate that they will be looking for workers with skills in the field of artificial intelligence. Moreover, 91% of companies using or preparing to use artificial intelligence in 2024 will be hiring new employees in the upcoming year, and 96% of them believe that it is best for candidates to have experience in artificial intelligence, which is considered very helpful by 65% of them and somewhat useful for others (31%).
The field of artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly and is one of the most important technologies currently used. Artificial intelligence aims to develop systems and programs capable of simulating the human mind and performing multiple tasks. Occupational safety is one of the most critical challenges facing artificial intelligence applications, aiming to ensure the system’s safety and stability, and to avoid errors or breakdowns that may cause harm to the environment in which it is being used.
Furthermore, 83% of this sample indicate that employees with artificial intelligence skills will certainly (45%) or perhaps (38%) have a higher level of job security in their companies compared to those who do not possess these skills.
When asked why they are currently using artificial intelligence, business leaders answered that they use it to support customers by 67%, for research by 66%, and also to create meeting summaries or documents by 61%.
For companies planning to start using artificial intelligence in 2024, the most anticipated uses include supporting customers by 62%, creating meeting or document summaries by 57%, and conducting research by 52%.
