Lenovo has developed a robot with six limbs called “Daystar Bot GS,” expected to be launched later this year, promising to gather extensive data.
The latest model of the robot appears to be an upgraded version of the initial device called “Daystar,” which the company unveiled in 2020.
However, the company has not announced “Daystar Bot GS” on its official website or through its social media channels, despite winning the IF World Design Award for 2024, sharing some related details on its website.
The android was creatively designed with six limbs, enhancing its stability and providing flexibility beyond basic robotic systems, allowing it to navigate smoothly across diverse terrains.
With an advanced control system, “Daystar Bot GS” can perform precise movements and interact with its environment through advanced algorithmic technologies. It also features durable protection according to the IP66 standard, ensuring resistance to dust and water effects, making it suitable for outdoor environments.
The robot excels in various situations, capable of gathering abundant information anywhere, anytime.
Lenovo described the robot “Daystar Bot GS” as a symbol of innovation, efficiency, security, as well as limitless autonomous exploration capabilities.
The robot is equipped with a set of cameras, including at least three front-facing cameras and advanced technologies in the top and side limbs.
Compared to “Spot” from “Boston Dynamics,” “Daystar Bot GS” features more legs and a wider front.
Designed not for household use, but according to the IF Design Award website, its purpose is commercial and government applications in Asian markets.
Lenovo aims to direct the use of its robot towards industrial, commercial, and government sectors, believing that this robot can play a significant role in various fields such as construction, inspection, search and rescue operations.
