Snapchat has introduced a series of new creative and collaborative options to enhance communication within the app.
The platform has added new lenses based on artificial intelligence, providing additional possibilities for editing and customization of visual elements. The new AI lenses allow you to transform your photos based on various features.
The platform stated, “Lenses have always been a part of the daily camera experience, and the new AI lenses offer limitless possibilities. We have introduced a new advanced lens supported by artificial intelligence that allows you to enjoy a festive look with just one click, and expect additional features and patterns soon.”
This lens serves as a new way to integrate generative AI outside the chatbot My AI.
The lens feature resembles certain aspects of dreams, introducing an artificial intelligence feature that enables you to transform your photos into artificial landscapes, even though the lens is integrated into the regular platform experience.
Considering that about 300 million Snapchat users interact with augmented reality daily, this presents a significant opportunity for the platform to creatively and attractively utilize artificial intelligence.
The platform is also introducing new templates to make the process of creating distinctive videos based on previous posts easier. This process gathers video clips from your memories, making it easier to reuse them in a new way.
Snapchat has increased the limits of video length, with the platform announcing, “You can now create videos up to three minutes long and upload long videos up to five minutes for stories and Spotlight.”
This represents a significant change in the Spotlight feature in particular, as the previous maximum was 60 seconds.
There are varying limits between the maximum recording length on the camera and the maximum upload length from the album, allowing for storing long video clips within the app.
The platform has introduced new updates for Snapchat users, now allowing users to create unified avatars displayed in friends’ accounts, in addition to realistic Bitmoji images of pets.
Snapchat stated, “By uploading a picture of your pet on the Snapchat map, the artificial intelligence tool will create a personalized avatar image that automatically appears next to you on the map.”
