The accelerated program phase for artificial intelligence applications at the Dubai Center was completed with the participation of 30 companies from 13 countries. These companies worked for 8 weeks in “Area 2071” to develop over 300 proposed projects to find future innovative solutions using artificial intelligence technologies for more than 100 challenges presented by 33 government entities in Dubai within the program.
The Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications announced that in the future, collaboration between government entities and participating companies in the program will work on developing and implementing 72 joint projects in the field of artificial intelligence applications in two main sectors: the future of government services and the future of media and communication services. This success embodies the initiative in providing an innovative model to attract technology companies to collaborate with government entities to use artificial intelligence tools to bring about positive change in the future of government work in Dubai.
Last June, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, announced the launch of the “Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications” to support government entities in Dubai to effectively and practically benefit from future technology, paving the way for upcoming radical changes in various vital sectors. He also toured “Area 2071” last month, where he met with entrepreneurs and innovators participating in the final stage of the Dubai Center’s Accelerators Program for Artificial Intelligence.
The Director of the “Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications,” Saeed Al Falasi, emphasized that the selected projects in the final stage of the Center’s accelerator program will be a distinct addition to all government entities in Dubai. They will utilize artificial intelligence tools in their future projects and initiatives, aligning with the leadership’s vision to keep up with global technological trends and adopt the latest practices in government work.
He pointed out that Dubai has set a new global model through this program for collaboration between the government sector, the private sector, and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to anticipate the future of artificial intelligence usage and leverage its tools to improve quality of life and develop sustainable opportunities.
– Important outcomes.
Al Falasi stated that this program contributed to making Dubai possess one of the largest platforms for developing AI projects in the government sector in the region. One of the most significant results of the accelerator program is the announcement by “Dubai Digital” to launch the platform (Dubai.AI) in collaboration with the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, providing users with easy access to services and information about the city of Dubai across various sectors.
Saeed Al Falasi said that the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, managed by the Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Media Council, and Dubai Digital Authority, will continue to work in the next phase to empower government employees with artificial intelligence tools and skills to develop comprehensive, tangible, and widely applicable solutions and support entrepreneurs in this field by providing collaboration and funding opportunities.
– Global interest.
The Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications’ accelerators program received participation requests from 615 companies from 55 countries worldwide, where these requests were evaluated by a specialized committee comprising experts in artificial intelligence applications. Thirty companies were invited from several countries, including Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Canada, Pakistan, Lebanon, Egypt, Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, to participate in the final stage in Dubai city.
Witnessed
This stage witnessed the participation of more than 200 employees from government entities in the program, and 100 entrepreneurs from qualified companies in a series of workshops and meetings to develop projects within two key sectors: the future of the government services sector and the future of the media and communication services sector.
The projects accelerating the future of government services focused on artificial intelligence applications that support government entities in enhancing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s best cities in designing governmental future and providing innovative advanced governmental services.
The projects of accelerators for the future of media and communication services aim to develop the capabilities of the media content industry, utilizing artificial intelligence applications to enhance user experience, reduce costs, and improve the quality of media products tailored for the audience.
The “Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Accelerators Program” organized a series of meetings with participating entrepreneurs in the program to explore opportunities to enhance their business growth and expand their presence in new sectors and markets at the local, regional, and global levels. The opportunity also includes working with government entities and engaging with experts and specialists in various future sectors from the UAE and around the world.
