Snap, the owner company of the Snapchat app, unveiled the latest version of Generative Artificial Intelligence technology on Tuesday, allowing users to see more realistic special effects while using their phone cameras to capture themselves.
This step comes as part of the company’s efforts to stay ahead of its competitors in the field of social media.
According to Snap, a leader in augmented reality, which adds computer-generated effects to images or videos from the real world, an enhanced version of its program (Lens Studio) has been revealed, allowing for the development of augmented reality features for Snapchat and other platforms.
The company mentioned that Snapchat users will be able to use advanced augmented reality effects, known as “Lenses,” in the upcoming period.
Lens Studio now includes a set of generative artificial intelligence tools, such as an artificial intelligence assistant that can answer questions if developers need help.
There is another tool that allows artists to write a command and automatically create a three-dimensional image, which they can use to showcase their own augmented reality, eliminating the need to create a three-dimensional model from scratch.
