Google has announced the availability of AI-powered photo editing tools for users of Google Photos without the need for a subscription.
According to the company’s announcement on its official website, owners of devices running Android, iOS, and Chromebook will be able to benefit from these tools starting mid-May under specified conditions.
The company stated that these tools will be available on Chromebook Plus devices running ChromeOS version 118 or newer, requiring at least 3 gigabytes of RAM. The device must be equipped with Android 8 or iOS 15 or newer to use them on Android, iPhone, and iPad devices.
Among Google’s new tools are the unwanted content removal tool, image deblurring, light enhancement, sky reshaping, portrait effects addition to photos, video effects, and more.
The company noted that those without the latest Pixel smartphones may have limited access to AI-supported photo editing tools. If users need to expand the use of these tools to the maximum, they will need to purchase a new Pixel phone or subscribe to Google One, which includes 2 terabytes or more of cloud storage.
