His Highness Sheikh Nasser Research and Development Center in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the research and development arm of the Nasser Center for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training, has obtained compliance with the ISO/IEC 23053:2022 quality standard, a significant and advanced step that adds to Bahrain’s efforts in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
This international measure is a framework for responsible evolution of artificial intelligence systems, and the center’s acquisition of this measure places it at the forefront of institutions following ethical and trustworthy AI practices in the region.
On this occasion, Dr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, the CEO of the Nasser Center for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training, emphasized the research and development arm’s commitment to applying ethical principles in developing smart technologies. Dr. Jasim Haji, the Executive Advisor at His Highness Sheikh Nasser Research and Development Center in the field of Artificial Intelligence, highlighted that achieving quality standards ensures several aspects have been met by the center, including transparency in developing AI systems and functions, as well as data management and addressing potential risks.
