Microsoft introduced the “Deep Search” service to all users, a feature based on artificial intelligence aimed at assisting researchers facing complex questions that cannot be easily answered.
The company has mentioned that now all users can access Deep Search within Bing Search by clicking on the Deep Search button located at the top of the search results page.
Microsoft announced the Deep Search feature in December 2023, where this feature delves deep into your queries using the Bing index and GPT-4 to provide precise and comprehensive search results.
The company rolled out the feature for a short period at the beginning of February, but decided to withdraw it for additional testing.
It seems they have relaunched it at the beginning of this month, and Microsoft has now officially announced its launch.
Jordi Ribas, Microsoft’s Vice President of Production and Engineering for Search and AI products, said: “The full Deep Search feature can now be accessed on both computers and mobile devices. This feature leverages the Bing index and utilizes GPT-4 to broaden and enhance queries, identifying potential purposes.”
He mentioned that it takes about 30 seconds to benefit from this feature, bringing back highly relevant results that may not be clear in traditional searches.
Microsoft designed this feature using the Bing search engine’s web index and categorization system, relying on GPT-4 to distinguish all possible purposes and variances behind queries, and to calculate descriptions for each, aiming to create a perfect set of results.
After applying a number of query methods, the feature displays unconventional results in search results.
The search results are arranged by the feature based on how well the page aligns with Bing’s expanded description, as well as other factors like topic relevance, content quality, source credibility, and page popularity.
The search results from the feature will not be available as quickly as regular search results, although the feature represents a new way of using artificial intelligence in search results.
