The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has launched 4 intelligent robots in the Traffic and Security Patrols Department to utilize them in educating and raising awareness within the community about traffic issues through digital means.
Brigadier Ahmed Saif bin Zeitoon Al Muhairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector, emphasized during the unveiling of the smart robot system Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to keeping pace with the technology revolution, which enhances the efficiency of police and security operations. He pointed out that adopting smart technologies aligns with the wise leadership’s vision towards foreseeing the future with wise insights that seek to benefit from the latest artificial intelligence technologies to achieve a sustainable future.
He explained that the use of artificial intelligence technologies has supported efforts, reduced the time required, and led to positive results in police and security work areas. This development has had a positive impact on peace and happiness in society by providing advanced services that match the latest global developments and promoting the adoption of those advanced technologies in digital traffic education and awareness through displaying digital traffic video clips.
Colonel Mahmoud Yousuf Al Baloushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Department, stated that the new robots are considered friendly to the community and are used to educate and raise awareness in the field of traffic safety, whether in Abu Dhabi Police initiatives or in events involving key partners.
He further mentioned that the public will witness the robots offering their services, urging them to respect traffic laws and regulations, warning against wrong practices, and providing answers to their various queries that enhance traffic safety.
Major Ahmed Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of the Smart Traffic Robots Project in the Traffic and Security Patrols Department, highlighted the success of the experiments conducted by the department using the intelligent robot in awareness. It demonstrated its effectiveness in interacting with the public, clarifying messages smoothly, providing accurate answers on various topics such as the risks of distraction while driving, the value of traffic violations, and the importance of safe driving. He emphasized the commitment to traffic laws and regulations to avoid violations.
