Ministers of Justice from the G7 industrial democracies discussed the legal use of intelligent technologies by judicial authorities in an acceptable manner.
The German news agency reported that the conference, held in the Italian city of Venice yesterday and today, focuses on setting boundaries for the use of machine learning and robots. Italy currently chairs the G7.
In a post on the SMS service on the X website, the Italian Minister of Justice, “Carlo Nordio,” described the main issue as “combating transnational organized crime,” with a focus on issues like drug trafficking and money laundering.
The group consists of Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, in addition to representatives from the European Union, according to a German agency.
It was mentioned that the group leaders adopted a joint decision at the end of last month, based on an Italian initiative, to combat international trade in prohibited drugs.
This announcement particularly focused on synthetic drugs such as “Fentanyl.”
Justice ministers are expected to hold regular meetings within the framework of the G7.
