Google Bard receives a major update with the presence of Jiminy, the latest and most powerful artificial intelligence model from Google. Today, a significant update was announced for Bard, Google’s smart chatbot, which competes with ChatGPT, and the company claimed that it will greatly enhance its capabilities.
The company states that Bard will now operate on the Gemini engine, the latest and most powerful artificial intelligence model from Google, giving the chatbot more advanced capabilities in reasoning, planning, understanding, and more.
Gemini is available in three sizes: Ultra, Pro, and Nano, allowing it to work across various devices from mobile devices to data centers.
In the mentioned text, the Bard version will first be available with Gemini Pro in English in over 170 countries and territories worldwide, with more languages and countries to be added soon.
The company noted that enhancements will comprehensively improve Bard’s capabilities, enhancing its ability to understand, summarize, think, create, write, and plan.
Sissie Hsiao, Vice President and General Manager of Assistant and Bard at Google, stated during a press conference at the launch of Gemini: “This is the biggest upgrade in Bard’s quality since its launch.”
In 2024, Google will launch Bard Advanced, a more powerful model based on Gemini Ultra. This model will have the ability to understand all types of content, including texts, images, sounds, videos, and code, and will have multimedia capabilities.
The company announces that it will launch a reliable testing program for Bard Advanced before opening it to a larger number of users early next year. In addition, additional security checks will be conducted on Google Bard Advanced before its release.
The update comes after several improvements to the Bard program since its launch just 8 months ago. In recent months, the AI experience has been enhanced by adding features such as the ability to answer questions about YouTube videos, as well as access to Google apps like Gmail, Docs, Drive, and others, in addition to other Google services like Google Flights and Hotels.
Sissie Hsiao concluded: “With Gemini at present, we are getting closer to providing the best artificial intelligence assistant in the world.”
