His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced the launch of “AI71” artificial intelligence company, which comes within the Advanced Technology Research Council specializing in managing biological data.
The new company relies on the innovative artificial intelligence models “Falcon” developed by the Institute of Technological Innovation, aiming to focus on various fields to provide unique solutions and options for global companies and institutions in data control using artificial intelligence technologies to enhance data privacy and security.
The company’s launch follows the success of the Institute of Technological Innovation in developing the large linguistic model “Falcon” with its “7B,” “40B,” and “180B” versions, which rely on generative artificial intelligence techniques to support research and commercial applications.
“Future One” is responsible for commercial marketing and is responsible for introducing the new company to the market and launching its activities in various sectors such as medicine, education, and law. The new company aims to provide vast databases covering various segments of society that can be used in different vital sectors. “AI71” is expected to offer exceptional value that sets it apart from competitors in the artificial intelligence market, including the use of advanced digital infrastructure in the UAE market.
On this occasion, Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that the use of artificial intelligence technologies in various vital sectors will have ambitious results in creating new high economic value markets locally, regionally and globally, in addition to supporting efforts for comprehensive sustainable development in the long term. He pointed out that the launch of the artificial intelligence company “AI71” reflects the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in relying on innovation and advanced technology to enhance the technical infrastructure and support research and development systems, aiming to transition to a knowledge-based economy.
He also added that the use of artificial intelligence is not limited to improving government performance and increasing administrative efficiency, but it can be widely relied upon in research and development in various priority areas, such as healthcare, space sciences, renewable energy, transportation, traffic systems, and others.
AI71 is expected to form many partnerships that will allow its clients to use its own artificial intelligence models and benefit from accessing advanced databases to enhance the performance strength of generative AI technology. More importantly, the company will provide its clients with decentralized data ownership, enabling customers to control their own data. This feature sets new standards for privacy and security, distinguishing artificial intelligence projects where data sovereignty is a significant responsibility. The company AI71 employs Falcon models for generative artificial intelligence to support and empower developers in both the public and private sectors worldwide. These developers are granted autonomy in controlling their data and enhancing their privacy. Access to central databases in the UAE is an important aspect in enhancing the use and expansion of artificial intelligence models for this company to achieve its vision and mission.AI71 works with seven partners through a collaboration system, including the Government Empowerment Department in Abu Dhabi, a group comprising over 30 government entities through efforts in digital transformation, the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Office, and remote work applications to support the adoption of AI solutions on a wide scale, as well as the global technology ecosystem in Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 to accelerate the adoption of AI startups, World Wide Technology for developing integrated AI solutions within the company, CNTXT, leading in the Middle East and North Africa region in digital transformation to provide data labeling services. BWSC Middle East joined the initiative to cover user case usage, in addition to AWS to provide computing capabilities.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, working as an advisor in the Private Affairs Office of the Presidency and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, attended the launch event of the new company. Also present were His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, serving as the cultural advisor to the President of the UAE, His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Municipalities and Transport Department.
Board members of the Advanced Technology Research Council attended the event, including His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, His Excellency Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, His Excellency Mohammed Hasan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment, His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Health Department in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Ahmed Tammam Al Katbi, Chairman of the Government Empowerment Department, and His Excellency Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council.
