As part of its ongoing efforts to foster innovation and scientific research in the fields of advanced technology, King Khalid University launched the “Summer School for AI” on Sunday. This pioneering academic initiative aims to equip participants with advanced knowledge in artificial intelligence. The school will be held over three days, from August 11 to 13, 2024, in the workshop hall of the central library at the university city in Al-Fara’a.
This school attracts a select group of specialists and enthusiasts in artificial intelligence, in addition to students from both general and higher education, as well as faculty members. The school aims to provide participants with the latest technologies and knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, thereby enhancing their technical, cognitive, and research capabilities, enabling them to contribute effectively to the fields of science and technology.
The training program of the school is distinguished by its diversity and comprehensiveness, including nine specialized workshops held at a rate of three workshops per day. Topics include the “Introduction to Python” workshop, which highlights the basics of programming and data structures using the Python language, considered fundamental for developing skills in artificial intelligence. This is followed by the “Machine Learning Model Training with Python” workshop, offering practical applications for data analysis and model training, demonstrating the importance of machine learning techniques in solving complex problems and developing innovative solutions.
In this context, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center at King Khalid University, emphasized that the summer school represents a qualitative step in the field of education and training in artificial intelligence. He noted that the university continuously seeks to offer advanced training programs that contribute to preparing a new generation of specialists in this field. He added, “Artificial intelligence is one of the rapidly evolving fields, and this initiative comes to reinforce the university’s status as a leading educational platform, aiming to enhance innovation, scientific research, and develop practical solutions that meet local and regional market needs.”
It is worth mentioning that the workshops of the “Summer School for AI” have been carefully designed to meet the needs of participants from various scientific backgrounds, focusing on practical applications that enhance their understanding and ability to apply scientific concepts in their respective fields.
