The International OSP Training Program for gold medalists in the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence (Athka), organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, has officially commenced. The program is hosted by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
The program features participation from 10 Saudi students from middle and high schools who have achieved top positions in the national Olympiad. These students will undergo an intensive two-week training program that includes developing skills in programming and machine learning, applying algorithms to solve practical problems, and understanding the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence technologies. The program also includes workshops and activities designed to enhance personal and professional skills, preparing students for a promising future in advanced technology fields.
Participants, aged between 14 and 18, will receive an accredited certificate from the British Accreditation Council (BAC) upon completion of the program, along with the opportunity to secure an academic recommendation for study at the University of Oxford. This program offers a golden opportunity for students to interact with peers from various countries, fostering the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
The National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence (Athka) witnessed strong competition, with 298 students reaching the final stage out of 260,000 applicants from different regions of the Kingdom.
