Large publishing institutions have decided to establish a coalition to bring a collective lawsuit against artificial intelligence companies such as Google and OpenAI.
These developments have emerged after technology companies used private content from publishing houses to train artificial intelligence models, as reported by “Semaphore”.
The future alliance is expected to include “ACI” company owned by Barry Diller, The New York Times, Axel Springer Company, and News Corp, the owner of The Wall Street Journal.
Some institutions are concerned about the decrease in traffic on their websites, while the CEO of “ACI” clarified to “Semaphore” that traditional search engines stumble upon the “best of the internet”, whereas major language models are designed to replicate the “best of the internet” as per his description.
In addition to the lawsuits, this alliance aims to take legislative actions to address this issue.
