Announced officially by MediaTek, the launch of their new processor Dimensity 9300, which competes directly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This leading processor, which will be used in the upcoming X100 series of Vivo phones, features a new design called All Big Core.
The chipset integrates Generative Artificial Intelligence with benefits for Android devices, improving performance and increasing battery life.
MediaTek announces weeks after Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which will automatically provide Generative Artificial Intelligence for phones it powers, including Xiaomi 14.
MediaTek is expected to soon release the first phones equipped with the Dimension 9300 processor.
The Dimensity 9300 processor takes less than a second to configure image stabilization and has the ability to run 7 billion AI models at a rate of up to 20 codes per second.
It can also run about 13 billion parameter models, with a maximum capability of around 33 billion models using low codes actively per second.
The Dimensity 9300 processor improves performance by 46 percent and reduces power consumption by 40 percent compared to the previous Dimensity 9200 processor.
The new processor features the advanced Arm Immortalis-G720 graphics processing unit and provides up to a 46 percent increase in ray-tracing technology compared to the Dimensity 9200 processor.
MediaTek conducted an instant comparison between Qualcomm’s chip and the Dimensity 9300 chip, where test results showed that the Dimensity 9300 chip scored over 7600 points in Geekbench 6.0 tests, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip scored 7501 points in lab tests.
MediaTek developed the Dimensity 9300 processor with 4-nanometer manufacturing technology, and it contains eight cores, four for high performance and four for efficiency improvement.
The Dimensity 9300 adds new camera features such as lighting and autofocus auto-change for 16 objects, pixel-level autofocus, and independent optical image stabilization to help phones enhance image quality.
The processor supports dual active 4K quality screens at a 120Hz refresh rate for foldable devices, and also supports the new Ultra HDR format in Android 14.
The Dimension 9300 device supports LPDDR5T type RAM with a speed of 9600 megabits per second, with the ability to support high-resolution WQHD screens and a refresh rate of 180Hz.
Improvements in connectivity with the UltraSave 5G feature provide 10 percent energy efficiency, in addition to the extra range for wireless network connectivity.
