Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Microsoft, stated that the next generation of artificial intelligence will lead to a radical change in individuals’ productivity and will enhance innovation in global and local institutions and businesses, including the UAE. He commended the efforts made by institutions in both the public and private sectors to incorporate these technologies in driving innovation, overcoming obstacles, and providing significant opportunities to enhance economic development.
This came during his visit to Abu Dhabi today, where he inspected and got acquainted with the latest developments in cloud technology and artificial intelligence, with the aim of facilitating their use in all government and private institutions in the country.
Nadella unveiled the availability of the “Azure AI” service this month through Microsoft’s cloud centers in the UAE. This service will enable access to a variety of innovative artificial intelligence services and models, such as “GP-T4,” “Codex,” and “DALL-E-2.” These services can be used in developing artificial intelligence applications, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and code preparation.
According to a report by “PricewaterhouseCoopers,” the artificial intelligence industry in the Middle East is expected to reach a value of $320 billion by 2030.
The report indicated that the UAE is preparing to host the largest percentage of artificial intelligence technology in its economy compared to any other country in the region. It is expected that this percentage will reach approximately 14% by 2030.
For over 30 years, Microsoft has been operating in the UAE and continues to strengthen its presence effectively, especially after its major investment in establishing its first cloud center in the Middle East on UAE soil, positioning itself significantly in the region.
