The Russian company “Severny Press” has announced the development of a new military robot equipped with advanced capabilities for carrying mines and ammunition. This robot features artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that enable it to operate autonomously or be remotely controlled in combat zones.
According to information released by the company, the robot is capable of carrying various types of mines, including the TM-72 and TM-89 anti-tank mines, as well as PMN anti-personnel mines. Thanks to AI, the robot can perform tasks independently, meaning it can be pre-programmed to carry out its missions without direct human intervention.
Advanced Capabilities and Low Noise
One of the key features of this new robot is its ability to move quietly, making it difficult for enemies to detect. This capability enhances its effectiveness in executing sensitive tasks on the battlefield, allowing it to conduct tactical operations with complete secrecy.
Promising Prototype
Severny Press has revealed that it has developed a prototype of the robot platform, measuring 70 cm in length and 40 cm in height, capable of carrying loads up to 70 kg. The robot can travel distances of up to 100 km per mission, with an operational time of up to 1.5 hours. These specifications reflect high maneuverability, making this robot a valuable asset in advanced military operations.
Three Operating Modes
The robot features three main operating modes. In autonomous mode, the operator pre-programs the mission into the robot’s computer, allowing it to execute the task without any human intervention. In semi-autonomous mode, the robot moves towards the target, and the operator detonates the mine remotely upon arrival. The third mode is wireless control, where the operator guides the robot from start to finish, utilizing images transmitted by cameras mounted on the robot.
The Future of Military Robotics
These advancements represent a significant step toward enhancing military capabilities through artificial intelligence, opening new horizons in security and military tactics. With these innovations, armed forces can perform more complex and precise missions, significantly improving their ability to address field challenges efficiently.
