Adobe has confirmed its intention to incorporate generative AI features into its video editing software, “Premiere Pro,” later this year.
The new features will be based on Adobe’s Firefly AI model, in addition to collaborating with prominent AI companies such as OpenAI, Pika Labs, and Runway ML.
The new video editing capabilities in the program include the ability to add or remove elements in video clips using text commands, as well as the option to extend the length of video footage based on AI models to create additional content consistent with the original footage.
To ensure transparency and reliability of videos, a distinctive marker will automatically be placed on all video clips created using these tools through Adobe Content Credentials for content authentication service.
One of the anticipated benefits is the ability to create high-quality realistic images and videos using text-based commands relying on a diverse set of models, including OpenAI’s Sora model and other models accessible through Adobe.
Adobe will offer an enhanced sound editing experience in Premiere Pro with powerful and user-friendly tools for controlling all aspects of audio.
While Adobe has not announced a specific release date, it has confirmed that the new video editing tools will be available later this year, with no pricing details disclosed yet, likely to be accessible through the company’s Creative Cloud subscriptions.
