Yahoo is enhancing its email service by incorporating new features based on artificial intelligence, along with other tools aimed at facilitating email management.
One of the key new features is the ability to summarize emails using artificial intelligence, where these summaries are displayed with bulleted lists showing suggested tasks, in addition to highlighting messages deemed highly important to the user.
Google announced a few months ago the introduction of email summarization feature in its Gmail service, while Apple recently revealed the availability of the same feature in its default mail application on its devices.
The new artificial intelligence features in Yahoo Mail also assist in summarizing required possible responses.
Yahoo Mail also provides quick access to emails and swift handling, as “Quick Actions” buttons will be directly available within the inbox, allowing users to quickly add an event to the calendar, check into flights, or track parcels.
Yahoo offers a panel called “Highlights”, a new fixed space enabling users to view their important tasks or other things they wish to review quickly.
Yahoo Mail users can now integrate their inbox with other email accounts, such as Gmail, Outlook, and Microsoft, to enable sending and receiving all emails in one place.
Kyle Miller, Vice President of Product at Yahoo Mail, stated: “People are looking for better ways to enhance their daily activities, such as managing multiple email accounts, organizing schedules, reading lengthy emails, and tracking orders. The new features we offer aim to greatly simplify life for anyone relying on email.”
These new benefits will be automatically available to new users, while existing users can opt to benefit from them, initially launching within the United States before rolling out to other countries.
The new features can be utilized in the desktop version of Yahoo Mail on computers, with plans for availability later on Yahoo Mail applications on mobile devices.
Yahoo Mail has previously added a set of artificial intelligence features to enhance the search process, help users find lost gift cards and discount codes, and also in crafting email messages in an appropriate manner.
