The first edition of the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad for high school students will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from 9 to 15 August next, and this platform aims to honor a new generation of innovators and developers in this field from all around the world.
The organization of the first edition of the Olympiad, which aims to inspire students interested in artificial intelligence, is undertaken by LERAI Foundation. This competition identifies and tests students’ skills in three main areas: machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, with the LERAI team possessing extensive experience in organizing international Olympiads.
Dr. Yufa Kmentchijeva, the head of the scientific committee of the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, stated that the rapid progress in the field of artificial intelligence reflects future trends. This competition is an opportunity to enhance learning in schools worldwide and to motivate youth and innovators in this field from the new generation.
The competition, focusing on artificial intelligence, consists of two rounds. The first is the scientific round, where participating teams will find solutions to problems in a context that simulates scientific research, while the second round is the practical test where students must design and execute experiments and extract results about the current capabilities and limitations of artificial intelligence.
This round is entirely organized at the Artificial Intelligence Olympiad site, aiming to introduce students to how artificial intelligence software works, widely used, such as “Chat Git” and “Dall 2” and others.
