On Monday, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, announced that it is essential for every country to possess its own infrastructure for artificial intelligence in order to seize the economic opportunities it offers, while maintaining its local culture.
During a global summit for governments in Dubai, Huang stated: “Others should not be left responsible for establishing the sovereign infrastructure for artificial intelligence.”
Nvidia’s market value has reached 1.73 trillion dollars on the stock market, thanks to its dominance in the advanced artificial intelligence chip market.
Huang noted that Nvidia aims to make artificial intelligence more user-friendly due to the rapid advancements in AI computing efficiency.
The CEO of Nvidia called on countries to establish national infrastructure dedicated to artificial intelligence in order to take control of leadership and revitalize the industrial sector quickly.
He mentioned that concerns regarding the dangers of artificial intelligence are exaggerated, and pointed out that regulations on other modern technologies like cars and airplanes have been successfully managed.
He added: “There are those who aim to instill fear among people about these modern technologies, wrap them in mystery, and encourage people to abstain from making efforts to understand and use these technologies, relying instead on their services. I believe this approach is incorrect.”
The CEO of Nvidia believes that developing independent infrastructure for artificial intelligence in different countries leads to increased demand for the company’s advanced chips.
Huang pointed out that countries around the world that seek to establish and develop their own infrastructure for artificial intelligence technology internally contribute to the increased demand for his company’s products.
Huang mentioned that several countries such as India, Japan, France, and Canada attach great importance to investing in national capabilities related to artificial intelligence. These countries should enhance their natural resources – data – and harness this data for the benefit of the state. Indeed, asserting sovereign capabilities in artificial intelligence is an international issue.
Huang has spoken in recent months about the necessity for countries and their institutions to retain locally derived valuable information that can be extracted from AI systems.
This national AI trajectory will lead to an explosion in the field of artificial intelligence, increasing the size of data centers, which might require the expertise and tools of Nvidia.
Forecasts indicate that Nvidia has succeeded in doubling its sales volume due to increased investment by customers in the field of artificial intelligence, including major companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet.
Huang currently aims to increase the number of his company’s clients by persuading commercial enterprises and governmental entities to establish independent foundational pillars for artificial intelligence.
