After hours passed on a sudden decision to dismiss the CEO of OpenAI, the co-founder and company president Greg Brockman submitted his resignation request.
Regarding Altman’s post on the platform regarding the resignation decision, Brockman commented, saying: “We have been through tough and great times together, and we have achieved a lot, but based on today’s news, I have decided to resign.”
In another post, Brockman and Altman expressed their shock about the board’s decision and indicated that they are still making efforts to understand what happened, adding: “We will overcome this, and greater things will happen soon.”
Initially announced by the OpenAI board that Brockman would step down as chairman of the board but remain within the company.
Based on what was mentioned by the developer company of ChatGPT, the board of directors is now questioning the possibility of Altman continuing to lead the company.
Altman continued to not be straightforward about his ongoing communications with the board, which hindered his ability to fulfill his responsibilities.
As for Altman’s successor, the company confirmed that Mira Murati, the company’s chief technology officer, will temporarily take over his position.
