Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, announced a new decision appointing Sam Altman, the former CEO of OpenAI who was dismissed from his position a few days ago.
Sam Altman will join Microsoft to lead the new research team specializing in artificial intelligence, according to CEO Satya Nadella.
The board of directors of OpenAI late on Friday announced the dismissal of Altman and his temporary replacement by Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati.
Microsoft’s CEO clarified that there is still ongoing collaboration with OpenAI and expressed confidence in their products and their ability to innovate and provide support to customers and partners.
Altman’s departure from OpenAI was the result of a review process conducted by the board of directors, showing that he was not always honest with the board, affecting his ability to perform his responsibilities adequately.
