Samsung has announced its intention to expand the use of artificial intelligence features in Galaxy AI to a wide range of devices, including wearable devices.
The company unveiled its first phones featuring Galaxy AI technology – the Galaxy S24, +Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S24 Ultra – last month, and these phones have been widely praised.
Samsung aims to go beyond this, as Roh Tae-moon, the head of the Mobile Experience Department, stated that the company is looking to incorporate Galaxy AI features into its wearable devices in the future.
Samsung plans to use artificial intelligence to enhance digital healthcare and usher in a new era of advanced and smart health experiences.
They said that Samsung intends to collaborate with leading artificial intelligence companies to improve all its products in the future.
The company has not revealed much about the upcoming features, although these features are expected to debut with the upcoming Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch 7 series, expected to be unveiled in the second half of this year.
The wearable devices are expected to be released in the third quarter of 2024, in addition to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
The company has improved in providing fitness tracking, health monitoring, and precision through its smart watches in recent years.
Samsung adopted the Wear OS operating system with the Galaxy Watch 4, bringing additional apps and integrations to its smart watches.
It has begun collaborating with universities and companies to develop and enhance its smart watches.
Using artificial intelligence, individuals can quickly get answers from the data collected from their smart watches.
Roh Tae-moon indicated that artificial intelligence will bring significant changes to Samsung phones and all industry sectors.
He pointed out that the company has many ideas and concepts it seeks to implement, and additional artificial intelligence features can be leveraged on Galaxy devices in the future, including smartphones, smart watches, and tablets.
Tae-moon also mentioned that artificial intelligence is in its early stages and may be prone to hallucinations, and there are discussions about intellectual property rights as well.
The CEO emphasized the need to consider challenges and responsibilities, and called on companies to collaborate openly in the field of artificial intelligence, reaffirming Samsung’s commitment to enhancing the privacy and security of Galaxy devices.
