Samsung has revealed its new artificial intelligence model “Gauss” during the “Samsung AI Forum 2023”.
“Samsung Gauss” consists of 3 main models; a language generation model, a code generation model, and an image generation and editing model.
The Language Generation model (Samsung Gauss Language) is intended for tasks such as composing emails, summarizing documents, content translation, and can be integrated into various products to enhance user experience.
The Code Generation model (Samsung Gauss Code) is designed to help developers speed up and simplify code writing, as well as other software development processes like code description creation and testing operations.
The Image model (Samsung Gauss Image) allows for image generation and editing such as changing styles or adding new elements, as well as enhancing the quality of low-resolution images.
The “Gauss” model is being developed at Samsung’s research center, with the name chosen in honor of the famous mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, who laid the foundations for the theory of normal distribution which is fundamental to AI and machine learning technologies.
The company announces that it will introduce the new artificial intelligence model to its employees currently, with a promise to make it available in its various products in the future.
The “Gauss” model comes after a period of temporary ban imposed by Samsung on AI tools following an internal data leak earlier this year.
