The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque relies on artificial intelligence and various digital technologies to effectively guide and provide guidance to visitors and worshippers in the Grand Mosque.
The Saudi Press Agency “SPA” reported that the Presidency has provided 52 electronic screens inside and outside the Grand Mosque, with a total area of 279 square meters, operating 24 hours a day.
The General Operation and Maintenance Management in the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, through the screen monitoring unit, provides high-definition screens with content tailored to events and changes by a specialized team in the religious and guidance aspects. The content is translated into several languages and distributed in the entrances, exits, courtyards, and roads leading to the Grand Mosque.
In addition, the Presidency has also implemented artificial intelligence through a guiding robot to meet the pilgrims’ needs for obtaining all brochures and publications to help them perform their rituals easily. The robot also contains guidance and instructional content and can navigate around the Grand Mosque, with the ability to browse and share content via mobile phones.
