In a significant move to enhance the use of artificial intelligence in the Arabic language, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with NAVER Corporation, NAVER LABS, and NAVER CLOUD. This collaboration aims to develop an advanced language model in Arabic, reflecting the Kingdom’s ambition to become a leader in AI technologies.
Innovation in Arabic Language Development:
The memorandum seeks to employ the latest advancements in artificial intelligence to create innovative linguistic solutions. This partnership is part of the ongoing Global AI Summit, now in its third edition in Riyadh, where the agreement was signed in the presence of senior officials from both sides, including His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom, Choi Byung-hyeok.

This initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes digital transformation and the development of the technology and AI sector.
This partnership marks an important step towards promoting the Arabic language in artificial intelligence, opening up new avenues for collaboration between Saudi Arabia and South Korea in this vital field. Thanks to these joint efforts, the near future is expected to see significant advancements in Arabic language models, enhancing the Kingdom’s capability to lead globally in AI technologies.
