Sam Altman is currently preparing to return as CEO of OpenAI, despite pressures from investors to reverse his sudden dismissal. This marks the latest development in an ongoing series of events following the decision to part ways just two days ago.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Altman is expected to make a decision between two options by the end of this weekend. He intends to come back, but has informed shareholders that he desires to form a new board of directors as a precondition.
On the other hand, Sam Altman presents an alternative by creating a new artificial intelligence company with his former colleagues at OpenAI, who resigned shortly after his dismissal from the platform.
The decision to dismiss Sam Altman from his position at ChatGPT was made by the company’s board of directors last Saturday, based on the developer company’s decision. This decision came as a result of a lack of confidence in Altman’s ability to continue leading the company.
Shortly after the surprise announcement of Sam Altman’s dismissal, the CEO of OpenAI, Greg Brockman, co-founder and CEO, submitted his resignation.
Regarding Altman’s post on the platform about the resignation decision, Brockman wrote: “We have had a challenging and wonderful time together, and we have achieved a lot, but based on current developments, I have decided to resign.”
