The council of Rashid bin Hameed Al Ramadhani convened its third session on “Advanced Technology and Cybersecurity”, with the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Hameed Al Nuaimi, and the participation of Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti and Shahab Issa Abu Shahab, along with the attendance of experts and decision-makers.
Sheikh Rashid bin Hameed Al Nuaimi started the session by welcoming the attendees and indicated that the council considers this as its third session to discuss an important and vital topic that affects various aspects of life. He emphasized that the United Arab Emirates is blessed with wise leadership that has great ambitions and works diligently to achieve its goals. He stressed the importance of having strong systems and maintaining a secure infrastructure to achieve progress and excellence.
He mentioned that the government has established the Cybersecurity Council, which has made significant improvements in the field of integrated protection systems for governmental institutions, private sector companies, and individuals. He explained that providing a secure environment contributes to ensuring a stable and prosperous economy.
During the press conference led by the journalist Marwan Al Shaheen, Dr. Al Kuwaiti highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in combating electronic crimes, cyber terrorism, and cyber conflicts to protect the national infrastructure.
He discussed the components of cybersecurity, such as governance, policies, procedures, investments in this vital field, encouraging innovation, and enhancing partnerships with countries and other entities, in addition to protection and defense, noting that every individual plays a frontline role in the cybersecurity chain.
He pointed out that activating the digital system and utilizing artificial intelligence contribute to preventing cyber threats and daily attacks, achieving the best results in maintaining the confidentiality and security of our national data.
Regarding this, Mr. Shahab Issa Abu Shahab spoke about the role played by the Advanced Technology Research Council in setting a strategy for research and development, supporting innovation, and knowledge-based economy. He emphasized the center’s commitment to contributing to building a future full of opportunities and experiences, with the aim of achieving success and sustainable development, and enhancing cooperation and coordination with various authorities and institutions.
He mentioned that the council continually works on developing strong and robust frameworks with the Cybersecurity Council in the field of encryption and cybersecurity protection, contributing to enhancing continuous positive impact and ensuring a secure future in the face of technological advancements.
The session witnessed great interaction with the attendees who praised the efforts made by the relevant authorities to unify efforts in building a global information society that contributes to enhancing the level of security and privacy, finding effective solutions to reduce the negative impacts as technology advances and cyber threats increase, affecting various aspects of our lives and privacy.
