Elon Musk stated that Tesla is currently focusing on increasing compensations for employees in the artificial intelligence team, in response to OpenAI’s attempts to attract Tesla’s engineers in the field of artificial intelligence. It can be said that the increase in salaries and bonuses for Tesla’s team is mainly due to the efforts of OpenAI.
Musk also mentioned that OpenAI has been recruiting engineers from Tesla and enticing them with generous offers and compensations, and unfortunately, succeeded in some cases, like Tesla’s AI scientist, Ethan Knight, who was lured by OpenAI to join, but Musk announced his move to the XAI artificial intelligence company.
The competition for AI talent intensifies as technology companies accelerate towards dominance in this field. Regardless of the high salaries they offer, some company leaders have adopted a personal approach to attract engineers.
It is alleged that Mark Zuckerberg from Meta sends personal emails to artificial intelligence researchers at DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google. According to reports, Meta has offered job opportunities to candidates without conducting any interviews.
On the other hand, Sergey Brin, one of the founders of Google, personally reached out to an employee who was considering leaving Google to join OpenAI. Brin made several promises and offers to convince the employee to stay, including a higher salary.
