/WAS/The advisory meeting of the United Nations Artificial Intelligence Commission was held in New York, United States. 38 members from various countries around the world, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, participated in the meeting.
Dr. Latifa bint Mohammed Al-Abdulkarim, a member of the Shura Council, represented the Kingdom in the Commission. A delegation from “Sedayaa“, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, participated in this meeting.
During the meeting, various important aspects of adopting artificial intelligence technologies and the challenges arising from their misuse were discussed, in addition to exploring mechanisms for regulating artificial intelligence at the national and global levels.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is remembered for hosting a consultation session during the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit hosted by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority “Sedayaa” in 2020, and this session is linked to the establishment of the United Nations’ specialized Artificial Intelligence Advisory Commission.
