The thirteenth edition of the JISSIC Global exhibition and conference features multiple workshops and discussions by experts on the future of cybersecurity, Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT) teams, and how to enhance global cybersecurity levels through adopting artificial intelligence technologies. Global companies competed to showcase the latest technologies in combating cyber threats.
Several experts participating in the exhibition highlighted the importance of “JISSIC Global,” which kicked off today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in enhancing strategic collaboration and providing comprehensive security solutions for global companies to safeguard institutions from ongoing threats. They emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures to protect assets and data, and utilizing artificial intelligence applications to combat cyber threats.
Dr. Bashra Al Balushi, Director of Governance and Risk Management at the Dubai Cyber Security Centre – Dubai Digital Authority – explained that the “JISSIC Global” conference is one of the most important cybersecurity conferences in the region. She noted that the exhibition stands out for its rich discussions and specialized dialogues, as well as hosting over 750 specialized companies showcasing their security solutions and interacting with innovators and decision-makers.
She mentioned that the Dubai Cyber Security Centre, as the government partner of the exhibition, is implementing its distinctive initiatives at “JISSIC Global,” where the “ASAS” application will be showcased. This application measures the compliance of government entities with security and information protection systems in general, as well as their adherence to the various standards and policies issued by the Dubai Cyber Security Centre. It will provide a futuristic view on how government entities in Dubai are implementing electronic security standards.
Naeem Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, stated that the digital revolution has made significant progress and attracted everyone’s attention, but at the same time, it has increased risks due to the surge in complex cyber attacks, forcing organizations to significantly enhance their cybersecurity.
He emphasized the importance of “JISSIC Global,” where companies like Microsoft showcase innovative solutions in the field of cyber defense supported by artificial intelligence technologies to counter the escalating cyber attacks unprecedentedly, and commit to building an electronic defense barrier based on artificial intelligence to protect customers and various countries worldwide.
Dr. Aloisius Cheung, Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, stressed the importance of global institutions participating in exhibitions to showcase their cybersecurity products and solutions. These products and solutions were unveiled for the first time in the Middle East region and include three main areas. The first focuses on network security and ways to secure customers and companies, in addition to security solutions for malware and cyber attacks. The second includes cloud-based solutions that rely on artificial intelligence applications and cloud-based security models to support various scenarios.
Mohamed bin Butah Al Harasousi, CEO of Cyber Gate, announced the launch of an electronic protection system named “Guard” under the sponsorship of the Cyber Security Council. This system ensures the protection of information, networks, and customer devices regardless of their size and commits to expanding the service scope to small, medium, and large enterprises by providing risk protection.
He explained that “JISSIC” is an ideal platform for all companies operating in the field of cybersecurity solutions and addressing challenges of digital systems, especially with technological advancements worldwide.
In a similar context, Tom Lowndes, the Middle East Regional Director at “CyberArk,” a leading identity security company, revealed an identity security platform during their participation in “JISSIC 2024” hosted in a local data center in the UAE. This new service aims to enhance data sovereignty support capabilities in key sectors in the region and enable institutions in the UAE to strengthen protection levels against increasing attacks targeting human and machine identities.
He pointed out that electronic publication is now one of the biggest challenges facing companies, and the new platform works on mitigating risks faced by all companies, ensuring ease and enhancement in making cybersecurity investment decisions and securing all types of identities, whether human or machine.
