In a somewhat peculiar move, Throwflame company unveiled the first robotic dog carrying a flamethrower in the world.
The Thermonator robot is one of the quadruped robots carrying a flamethrower on its back from Throwflame, and it appears that users will control this robot through a controller connected to their smartphones like Backbone.
The robot uses integrated cameras to provide the user with a first-person view, while LiDAR sensors allow it to map the surrounding area to avoid obstacles that it might collide with.
Throwflame company truly hopes to draw everyone’s attention by having the ARC flamethrower on the back of Thermonator. Users of this device can ignite fires anywhere around them for up to an hour and with a range of up to 30 feet with a fast charger available.
According to the company, the flamethrower device works with gasoline or napalm fuel, both of which can be purchased from Throwflame’s website, and can be operated by smartphones up to a distance of 350 feet.
Throwflame company claims that their robotic flamethrower dog is designed for use in a variety of public and private sectors, including fire management and prevention, agriculture, environmental conservation, snow and ice removal, and the film industry.
Now, anyone with $9420 to spare can purchase the robotic dog Thermonator from Throwflame’s website. It should be noted that the company did not mention the presence of licenses for using the robotic dog or any actual restrictions limiting its spread.
